Synthetic graphite
Through long term thermal treatment in the absence of oxygen at around 3000°C, synthetic graphite is produced from petroleum coke or other amorphous carbon compounds.
In addition to graphite electrodes for the metalworking industry, the raw material for graphite moulded parts and powdered synthetic graphite is also produced in this way. Through screening and refining processes synthetic graphite can be produced within the following specification areas:
| Carbon concentration: | 98 – 99,9 % |
| Particle size: | 2 µm to 20 mm |
