Graphite
Like diamond, graphite consists of pure carbon. Its special crystal structure gives rise to the graphite’s unique material properties:
- Excellent electrical and thermal conductivity
- Outstanding lubricity
- High thermal shock resistance
- High temperature resistant up to >3000 °C in O2-free atmosphere
- Resistant to acids and oxidising agents
- Formation of intercalated compounds
